UX (User Experience)– it is not only for show

Did you know that 80% of all apps and software are abandoned after the first interaction? This is the effect of when the user doesn’t understand the purpose, gets stuck in the navigation or in different flows and processes. How come? What is crucial for you as a user, if you will come back or stop using an app or software? Welcome to a series of blog posts on user behaviors, user experiences (UX), and how we work with cognitive psychology and design guidelines to create the ultimate work tool for you.

Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig deeper, it’s really how it works.

What is user experience and why is it important?

UX is an abbreviation of the English term user experience and it is about design work that improves the users’ experience of a service or product. It is so much more than just designing a neat interface, but the core of UX is to bridge the gap that exists between assumptions and users’ everyday needs.

What is important to remember is that UX is not a single cog in a piece of machinery. For the effect to be noticeable, UX needs to permeate all aspects of an organization. Actually talking to the users and adapting the development according to their wishes and needs creates a user-centered approach. This approach will reduce the number of assumptions and guesses and promotes a culture lined with studies and experiments. It also allows us to create products that are better received by users. Therefore increasing the likelihood that they will be both profitable, long-lasting, and successful.

What is UX and interface design?

What is UX and interface design? The difference between UX and interface design or usability is that UX is about an overall picture. Therefore, it takes into account the organization’s well-being and the user’s goal fulfillment. It is not about creating an experience that is completely free of friction. It is rather about creating conditions where both organizations and users can improve their performance.

We are constantly working to improve the experience of our latest project, Aptic Cloudware. Our goal in all our development and design is to create meaning in the daily work and that it is possible to carry out their tasks with simplicity. We create better products by having an understanding of emotions, inconveniences, and challenges and with the help of that information create meaning and match it with organizational goals and resources.
